St. Paul Chamber Orchestra at the New Ordway Center

Last week, I was invited to go photograph the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra as they had their first rehearsals in their new hall at the Ordway Center in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.  The hall is absolutely magnificent, both aesthetically and acoustically.  Upon the first notes of the first rehearsal in the hall, the musicians were smiling in unison.

I had a somewhat daunting task to photograph the musicians rehearsing while showcasing the spectacular architecture of the new hall, which unfortunately will not be finished for several more weeks.  As such, I was trying to avoid evidence of construction whenever possible.  In fact, as soon as the musicians would break, the construction crew was back in the hall working hard to finish.  The photographs I took will eventually be used in marketing materials for the orchestra.
