Welcome to the Chelsea Tischler Photography Blog!
Please allow me to introduce myself – I’m Chelsea Tischler, and I am a photographer based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
My photographic journey began in September 2009, when I was supposed to go on vacation touring the Canadian National Parks with my then-boyfriend. After splitting up just days before the trip, I resolved to travel there alone. When I arrived at my hotel, I learned that they were hosting a beginner photography workshop with some of Canada's leading landscape and wildlife photographers. I was working as an engineer at the time, but I thought it might be fun to learn how to use my camera better, so I joined the group and was immediately hooked.
This is one of the images I took during that workshop, which ended up winning first place in the wildlife category in their nature photography contest, and was published subsequently in the Edmonton Journal. I have been hooked on photography ever since.
I incorporated my business in 2010 before leaving my career as a mechanical engineer. I studied photography at the Brooks Institute for eight months in an intensive certificate program, after which I started building my photography business.

I hope you enjoy my site and blog!
UPDATE 6/1/2020 - During the Covid-19 Stay-at-home order I have completely overhauled my website, a task that has been on my list for years but have not had enough time to complete. As such, I have omitted old blog posts relevant to genres that I focused on in the beginning but are no longer relevant (mostly weddings and studio portrait sessions).
