Wildlife of the Detroit Zoo

Since becoming a mother, my life has changed dramatically, and mostly in great ways.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to travel as much as I used to and that I miss my travel photography very much.   One small thing that I am starting to do regularly (with and without my family) is to visit the Detroit Zoo and photograph there.  It is only 3 miles from my house, and it's great to be able to observe and photograph such a diverse wildlife population without even leaving Royal Oak.  It's not nearly as exciting as actually going to the animal's true habitat, but it's a really nice (and convenient) compromise.

Above are a few images I captured this afternoon with my daughter, Karson.
