2014 Mind Over Matter 5k Run/Walk

On Saturday, Todd and I covered the 9th Annual Mind Over Matter 5k Run/Walk for mental health awareness and suicide prevention.  We had such a great time photographing all of the details of the event, and were so happy that despite the gloomy weather, over 1100 people attended and showed their support for this outstanding organization.

The nonprofit, Mind Over Matter, was conceived by my close friend, Julie Farhat and her siblings in honor of their mother, who developed Schizophrenia in her 40s and ended her life far too soon.   To date, they have raised over $120,000 for mental health awareness and suicide prevention organizations.  This year's beneficiaries include the University of Michigan Depression Center, No Resolve, and Common Ground.
